Check this ETN Coin for cpu mining guide to learn whether CPU mining is profitable? Recently, we have developed a manual on how to do mining for Electroneum on your mobile phone.

For instructions on how to use a mobile miner, see this article.

Use CPU for Mining Electroneum, Why not!

Mobile miner is a break through in that people can get their first coins without having high-performance hardware, or spend their hard-earned money.

It is an inexpensive, quick solution and does not limit the performance of our phone, which is one of the biggest advantages of this miner.

But smartphone is not the only device that almost everyone has at home and uses it practically daily.

I mean now our laptops or personal desktop’s CPU can also performs mining. And these are the devices that we will focus here.

Computers are the main driving force of Electronum’s blockchain.

It is precisely on them that transactions are validated, and thus actual mining, unlike mobile mining, where it is only simulated.

For this reason, the drawing speed is much higher than on the smartphone.

In today’s article, we’ll show you a guide to one of the easiest and fastest ways to start mining Electroneum on your personal computer.

Coin for CPU Mining for complete beginners

If you have no mining experience, the best start for you will be to use a truly simple mining software from Electroneum.

This miner is compatible with all basic operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Mac.

It is really very simple and unlike conventional miners that use the command line interface.

Electroneum engineers have created a graphical interface for it. Your computer processor is used to mine through this miner.

If you would like to try mining on a graphics card, check out this article.

    Start CPU Mining

Download the software at downloads.electroenum.com. You can find it in the top left corner of the page, titled “Beginner’s Pool Mining Software”.

This particular software is for Windows only.

If you are using a different operating system, scroll down to select one that is compatible with yours.

    Note:

It may happen that when you download an antivirus file with this software, it quarantines or Google Chrome blocks it from downloading.

Don’t worry, the software is proven and absolutely safe.

For Google Chrome blocking, click the “Menu” icon in the top right corner (the three-dot icon in the column), go to “Downloaded” and confirm with “Leave unsafe file”.

    • Open and install the downloaded file.
    • After installation, an icon named electroneum poolminer will appear on your desktop.
    • Last double click on the icon and that’s it!

In front of you is the main window miner. At this point, it is essential to create a wallet to which your mined coins will be credited.

Then copy the wallet address and paste it into the line that says Insert your ETN wallet here.

    # of Threads

Here you enter the number of cores of your computer.

If you are not sure, press the CTRL, ALT, DELETE keys at the same time and open “Task manager”.

Then go to the “Performance tab” for all the data on your processor.

    Pool URL

Here you need to enter the address of the pool through which you will mine.

The address is usually in the format:

stratum + tcp: // [URL]: [port]

Replace the URL with a pool URL and a port with a unique pool number that consists of four numbers.

The easiest way is to start with EasyHash Pool. You do not need to register in this field, so you just choose from the following two addresses based on your computer’s performance:

stratum + tcp: //etn.easyhash.io: 3630 (for weak and medium CPUs)
stratum + tcp: //etn.easyhash.io: 3631 (for strong CPU)

If someone wants to exepriment with mining in another pool, here is their list.

    We are starting to mine

The mining is set, so now all you have to do is press Start Mining and you should start mining. Progress is displayed in the Miner output window.

At the same time, you can see Hash rate and Total shares on the screen.

As you can see in the picture above, on my computer the Hash rate is 42.45 H / s, which is quite low.

To maximize the mined coins, it will be necessary to play with the miner settings and select the most suitable pool.

The optimal Hash rate is about 200 H / s. You should be able to reach this number with the i7 multi-core processor.

Miner does not directly display the amount of mined coins. For this important data you have to move to the web site of the pool in which you mine.

In our example, we extract through EasyHash Pool, so we go directly to their site. Select “My stats” from the top bar.

Then just enter your wallet address in the window and you will see the mining statistics on your computer.

As with mobile miner, the coins are first collected under “Balance”.

When you earn 10 coins, they automatically move to your wallet.

The fee for this pool is 0.1%. Be sure to notice these fees when you try new pools. Each pool has its own and ranges from 0 to a few percent.

    Conclusion

This miner is not the best and not the most effective. But it is clearly one of the simplest, so it is suitable for beginners and their first contact with actual mining.
